Michelle Deen

Registered Psychologist

Michelle is a Registered Psychologist who obtained her Master of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology from the University of Calgary.

She has over seventeen years of experience as a special education teacher and school psychologist, has worked in several school boards within Alberta, and has served on various province-wide committees with a focus on mental health initiatives.

Michelle uses a collaborative, strength-based approach when working with youth, their families, and various support systems to complete psychological assessments and facilitate comprehensive intervention planning. Specifically, she has extensive training and experience conducting psychological assessments in the areas of Intellectual Disabilities, Specific Learning Disorders, Giftedness, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety, and Depression.

Michelle is a Clinical Supervisor with the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary and has provided supervision for graduate students in the Master of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology program. She has also provided professional development on various topics, including Threat Assessment, Suicidal Ideation, Non-Suicidal Self-Injury, Psychological First Aid, Executive Functioning, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Stress, Academic Resiliency, and Anxiety.

Michelle lives in Calgary with her wife and three dogs. She is also a Canada Soccer C License certified coach and passionate Manchester United Football Club supporter.
